So I've been side-eyeing one of my drabble for a while now...

I wonder if I should just post it, considering its mostly an introspective POV and the themes are somewhat contentious in this fandom...

It'll probably get buried rather than spark a debate, but like... I still would like feedback ya know?

i think an aspect that might've gone a bit unexplored at large in the post-canon isat content is the niche of siffrin's social fumblage skyrocketing. the loops let them figure out an optimal strategy to get stuff done and it will be weird for them without that safety net, yes, yes, but they also got used to being able to fix their mistakes in conversations. they're allergic to changing the script... unless it lets them avoid making mira upset, or talk to an upset bonnie and then talk to them again because they blundered the first time so hard bonnie had a fit of pique so bad it made siffrin loop.

even before act 5, which a bit of an outlier with how pushed to the limit siffrin is in it, they say things without putting much thought into them and then bemoan saying them - think friendquests, and how much time in them siffrin spends thinking "ughhhh why did i say that the first time", or their comment about the world being inside the universe that's only available in act 4 that concludes with them thinking "stars, why would you say that"

all i'm saying is mx. no-filter would fall into the tmi pits so much more often because their brain recalibrated to a no material consequences mode, and be left with only a mental "whyyyy did i sayyy thattt" as a consolation prize

So I have been thinking a lot about Eloise as a character, and how she is often perceived as being a lesbian due to her disinterest in men and marriage. For a long time I had agreed with this sentiment because my mind took the logical route of “if she doesn’t like men then she must like women”, but through my own exploration of romantic and sexual identities I have developed a new theory.

I think that Eloise is lands somewhere on the aromantic spectrum.

I do want to acknowledge that I fully understand that many queer women and non-men often describe their journey to fully understanding their sexuality by pointing out that a lack of interest in dating men was a “early warning sign” of their queer identity, and I in no way shape or form want to invalidate that. I also want to say that I fully understand that romantic and sexual orientation are two very different things, and in my mind the queer characters of Bridgerton feel sexual attraction and love for anyone regardless gender.

That all being said, I think it’s worth noting that when fandoms speculate and theorize on a specific character’s sexual orientation, they often bunch it up with romantic orientation, and I think that’s a huge mistake when it comes to Eloise.

We’ve seen in the show with Theo, that Eloise can and does experience romantic attraction to men. What differentiates her from her peers and siblings is that she requires a lot more than simply meeting and flirting. Similar to those on the aromantic spectrum, Eloise’s romantic attraction is atypical to the societal expectation of meet, flirt, marry; she requires more.

When she met Theo she seemingly had no romantic interest in him, however as they spent time to together and explored each other’s interests we saw that Eloise began to develop romantic feelings for him. And I know what some of you are going to say “that’s literally just the friends to lovers trope”, BUT ACTUALLY NO because prior to and after meeting Theo in season 2, Eloise does not experience any other explicit romantic attraction on screen.

I just think that we as a fandom need to take a step back and acknowledge that while it may be true that Eloise has a sexual attractions to women as well as men, we also need to acknowledge that the her character development past season 1 shows that her avoidance of marriage may have nothing to do with men and everything to do with avoiding the societal pressure of romantic attraction, especially when she doesn’t experience it in the same way as her peers.

but otis really met this guy and he was like dude you remind me so much of my favorite character. my favorite character who is fucking hilarious, kinda pathetic, everyone worships the ground he walks on, is a major asshole, makes well disguised dirty jokes about underage girls, prostitution, rape, racism and gays and hes misogynistic on top of it? thats all of otis’s favorite things embodied in person!

So I saw mention of it the other day, and it got me thinking....

A poly ship between Drayton, Alysa, and Amarys would be...interesting. The Drayster with his melanin queens (he doesn't deserve them 💗).

Only thing I have figured out is that Alysa and Amarys would have a queerplatonic thing going (they'd cuddle & give one another kisses but that's about it in terms of physical intimacy?), and Drayton would do his best to love the girls equally.

Alysa would for sure be the one getting spoiled by Drayton and Amarys the most though, she's too damn cute. Whenever they're all relaxing together or the like, she's almost always sandwiched between them.

Recently convinced my boyfriend to watch Steven Universe and we’ve currently gotten up to the episode Bismuth. It’s been super fun rewatching the show and seeing with hindsight all the lore and clues sprinkled in, plus also seeing my bf witness all the reveals for the first time

Silver is capable of catching bullets and missiles fired at high speeds and very large numbers as well as grabbing multiple things while he himself is flying so I don't think Silver has a problem with moving targets.

I'll put these two asks together since they focus on the same topic, and I think both of you bring up good points as well. Perhaps in IDW it gave Silver more struggles because what's-his-name (Neo Metal Sonic turned dragon) suddenly jolted to fling everyone off, and some of them would absolutely have fallen to their dooms if Silver hadn't intervened? So with such a sudden stressful situation, I figure it could be more straining for him. Though, he is shown to be explicitly struggling in the panel afterwards, and I do think that is somewhat exaggerative considering the points you bring up. Silver's indeed carried far more than ten of his friends floating in various directions, and also far heavier items in similar high-speed hectic situations.
